Keep Your Emotions in Check
When you are buying a home you need to ensure your emotions don't take over...
Every now and then you may find a property you fall in love with, but it may not be the right fit for you. We are guilty of this happening to us at some point in our home buyer journey.
Maybe the driveway is too steep and is not practical for your car, or you have young children and there are dangerous steps inside and around the property.
You may find a home with a stunning kitchen and entertaining area, but the floorplan is not suitable for the family dynamic.
Or you’ve found a home that has been recently renovated that is hiding some serious issues under the carpet or mould in the walls under the new paint smell.
Even when you find that gorgeous new home you are absolutely in love with, keep your emotions in check and:
- Get a proper pest and building report done
- Try to imagine your life on a day to day basis in the house and imagine everything you will be doing from the moment you wake up to when you go to bed
- Imagine where everyone in the family is going to be spending time in the house and make sure the floorplan works for you all
Taking a step back before you buy is key to making sure you don't make a costly mistake.
